Standard Bayliner Recall not enough styrofoam in your hull?

Hallo zusammen,

BAYLINER SERVICE BULLETIN BL 25-08
OFFICIAL SAFETY GATE NOTIFICATION #30295
FLOTATION RECALL AFFECTING BAYLINER VR4OE PORTUGAL AND POLAND PLANT BOAT MODELS
Issue Alert

Bayliner has discovered that some VR4OE boat models built out of our Portugal and Poland plants may not comply with requirements for Level Flotation as stipulated by the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) 2013/53/EU. All units included in this campaign meet the RCD requirements for Basic Flotation, but some may not meet more stringent Level Flotation requirements.

Remedy

Install an additional quantity of flotation foam as specified in the field work instructions to meet Level Flotation requirements.

In order to install the appropriate amount of flotation foam, storage volume has been impacted, and the transom shower (if applicable) has been relocated.

Part Order Requirements

Shop tools and/or parts required to be ordered from Bayliner can be found in the attached Field Instructions. You must include the HIN and Service Bulletin number BL 25-08 when placing your part order.

NOTE:
The below parts are for this service campaign only and are unavailable for stock ordering. Any stock order submissions will be rejected.

Covered Vessels

VR4OE boat models built out of the Portugal and Poland plants.

Boats in inventory must NOT be operated, demonstrated, or offered for sale until this service has been completed.

Customer Letter Mailing Date

To reach consumers, dealers are asked to attempt additional contact by telephone, mail, internet, or other appropriate methods to complete the required services.

Bayliner will begin notifying owners of affected boats within two weeks of this notification. A sample notification letter is included for reference.

Reminder

The Warranty Claim Failed Part Number is NOT a part number to order. Use it only when filing your warranty claim. Refer to the Field Instructions for all shop tools, materials, parts, and labor allowed to complete the work.

Dealers must communicate all photo requirements with their technicians to avoid delays and/or rejections of warranty claims.

Dealers can identify boats with open service campaigns by running the “Boats with Open Service Bulletin Report” in Compass or by entering the HIN in the Compass search box. Instructions can be found on Tab 3 of the Dealer Boat List.
